“Learning World” Homework style with stamps and stickers

Learning World’s homework is to listen to the textbook audio.
To be able to reach fluency by once or twice a week English lessons, reviewing every lesson is necessary. Use the lesson time mainly on speaking in English, and it is recommended to take time for listening to textbook audio at home. (also Writing for TOMORROW textbook) Using stamps and stickers will be a good way to see the progress and have a reviewing routine.

Benefit
Using stamps and award stickers are great because:
1.Learning progress and achievement will be clearly understood.
2.Getting gold stickers will increase students’ motivation.
3.Students can be responsible for learning progress by seeing the achievement visually.
To make the learning progress easy to see for everybody (teachers, students, and students’ family as well),
4.Learning attitude slowly develops.
and
5.By the time students go to junior high school, learning will be habitual!

The stickers and the homework stamp will give students a sense of achievement.

How to use the stamp and stickers:

1.Stamp the page with the Listening Homework Stamp. At the beginning of the next class, check and see if students can do the chant, dialogue, or song.

2.If the student can recite/sing the listening homework well, put an Award Sticker GOLD over the stamp.

3.If the student does an okay job, but not great, put an Award Sticker BLUE  over the stamp.

Award Stickers BICOLOR are used to encourage students who have achieved Blue stickers but aren’t quite ready to get the next award sticker in gold.

4.Later, if a student tries again and can do a better job, put a gold sticker over the blue sticker.

After the entire textbook has been taught,  students with their textbooks with gold or bicolor award stickers on every page will get a teacher’s signature on the Certificate (Last page of the book) and continues on to the next textbook.

Developed by Mikiko Nakamoto
The idea of this homework style “show the progress visually” was developed based on the successful result from Mikiko Nakamoto’s school (the author of Learning World coursebooks).

★”Learning World” homework style improves the result, easier to remember the English learned, and the sentences from the textbook come alive in real life.
