  We use the BLUE BOOK in our first and second grade classes. At first, I thought second graders might feel embarrassed doing actions to songs, so I used the songs for listening practice and came up with alternative activities. But after about two months, they started enjoying the actions without any hesitation at all. Now they listen to the CD repeatedly, inputting basic vocabulary through songs and chants. I think the CD is so enjoyable that it’s opened up the children’s hearts. For the trial lesson, we did the train chant (One Blue Rectangle).
  I heard that the next level, Learning World 1, has many activities where students actually use the English they learn, so starting this spring, I plan to use the Activity Sheet 90. (Teacher A, Saitama Prefecture)

• Until now, we’d been using WELCOME with the YELLOW book, but we decided it was still too early to move on to Learning World 1, so we tried using the BLUE book instead. At first, we experimented with different teaching methods, but the children absolutely love the songs and chants. They’re really enjoying the challenge of learning slightly more difficult things like the train chant, number chant, and preposition chant. They also adore the Hokey Pokey song in the BLUE BOOK. When I played other CDs, they protested, “Not this one!” I was amazed they even memorized the entire intro. (Teacher H, Tokyo)
